Terrorizing Sooke with Paulboy, Cougar Kid & Big Blue Marble

The GO! Team joined forces with Paulboy, Cougar Kid & Big Blue Marble in Sooke to do a day of a caching on January 29th, 2011.

What a day that was!! I learned alot about my new geofriend Paulboy that day... And that lesson was that no bush, no fence, no rock wall, no tree, no water, no anything will get in his way of finding that cache. He is one hardcore cacher, that is for sure.

The group of us had a great day together, and got quite a few caches done despite the cold and the rain. Paulboy brought a us a fantastic lunch to enjoy, and we had snacks gallore to keep us well fuled.

Thanks a ton for the fun guys! Looking forward to many more fantastic geocaching adventures with you!!

The Third Milestone (500)

Technically there are way more milestones than the geo-achievements milestones of 100, 250, 500 etc.  There is all the hundreds that you get along the way, but writing about them all takes a too much time.  This is especially true when you are writing to try and catch up with the here and now.

But right now I want to talk about our 500th find.  We found this one on January 22, 2011, and the cache was "GC271XM - B10: Vault of the Underpants Gnomes! by alyseluvsmike".  We really thought that this halfway mark to 1000 finds really should have been again something easy and fun, but we also felt it should be one that belonged to our good caching friends alyseluvsmike.  Actually every milestone to date has been one that has belonged to one of our caching friends (accept our 1000th).  And those other friends that look at my stats and don't see your cache yet as a milestone don't be upset, as there are many more milestones to come!!

This was a really fun and fairly easy multi-stage cache to do!  I loved how they did it in 3 stages just like the Underpants Gnomes business platform of "Phase 1: Collect Underpants!  Phase 2: ?  Phase 3: PROFIT!"
We kinda went to the wrong spot for the final, but that's because I wasn't trusting my GPS when I really should have been.  But in the end I went back to trusting my GPS and it lead us right to it.
